For the past several seasons,
while “rocker-chic” reigned over the runways, chain embellishments skewed
towards the harsh, grungy, and tough. Androgyny and don’t-mess-with-me style
took center stage.
It’s time for a palate cleanser...
We love the current take on chains: clean, ladylike, and refined.
We Modern Renaissance ladies like
to be eco friendly when we can. With that in mind, you don’t have to buy a
whole new wardrobe to take part in this trend! You can buy chain from your local hardware store or trim
shop and use it to embellish items you already have. From lampshades and frames to belts and shoes, the
possibilities are endless.
We repurposed these boots by
sewing on light brown leather to the toecap and top of the shaft. We then whip
stitched chain over the seam on the shaft.
They’re pretty fabulous, right?
